Our handcrafted sheaths made of exotic koa wood to complement your knife handle, protects the blade from becoming dulled, scratched, chipped, or otherwise damaged when not in use.
Sayas are priced according to blade length and will be crafted to fit your exact Salter Fine Cutlery knife.
Sayas may be internally lined with non-reactive wood to further protect your knives and include a handcrafted ebony retaining pin to prevent your knife from falling out.
Add a custom, creatively designed stand to display your knife and matching saya, bringing an attractive conversation piece to any kitchen.

Standard chef’s knives are big and heavy because they evolved from Middle Ages daggers, which were designed for defense. It stabs fine, but how well does it handle standard kitchen tasks such as chopping and slicing? Our solution was to look toward Japan, where knives are based on the design of the featherweight samurai sword. Japanese knives are thinner and designed for the task at hand.
